Work is under way on a $15 million renovation of the less-than-10-year-old hotel at the Tulalip Resort Casino. Kitchell is renovating 360 rooms and building a “mega-suite” at the resort. Construction will occur so that 70 percent of the hotel rooms will be open at a time.

Phoenix-based construction firm Kitchell Corp. has bought a Silicon Valley-based facilities management company. Kitchell acquired San Jose-based Valley Facilities Management Corp. for an undisclosed price. The move grows Kitchell’s footprint in Northern California. The Arizona company has a construction management division based in Sacramento.

Companies such as VFMC help technology companies maintain high-tech infrastructure such as data centers and medical firms with operations such as device manufacturing and labs.
